Back story

Since this is my first blog post, I suppose we should start with a bit of a back story. I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful children.  I am also a college student. I decided to create this blog for the women like me out there who want to be better than they are. I’m not saying that anyone is not good enough as they are now, just that some of us never feel like we will be enough. To clarify this is not about changing who you are. It’s about finding happiness with who you are now! We are all different; whether it is shape, size, color, ethnicity, faith, etc. None of us are exactly alike, and that is just fine. Me personally, well let’s just say my past is not exactly shrouded in “new bride” white.  I have lived my entire life in a small town in Alabama. I went to the same high school as my mother and father, and quit after the 10th grade. Do I regret that decision? NO. I wanted to jump into the world, and while it was tough, it was never boring. Shortly after leaving school I became pregnant with my first child. No I wasn’t promiscuous, just in love. Or so I thought. My “first” and I managed to last for three years before succumbing to the irreconcilable differences that we were as a couple. I was heartbroken for a while and thought I would never be able to move on. Then, call me fickle, the next month I started going out with a good friend. In the beginning it was just two friends having lunch or dinner, and talking on the phone for hours.  But, it turned into so much more. By January of the following year we were planning to take our vows and welcome a new little one into the folds of our family. So, at the age of 21 I said “I do” to the love of my life. I have been incredibly blessed to be his wife. He is the kind of man that I know I can trust, lean on, and turn to at all times. If anyone else reading this has found that , then hold on to what you have, and never forget how lucky you are! Jump to now, I’m in my first year at college , raising two children and I’m a wife. As you can imagine this means that my plate is pretty full. I intend to share my struggles, victories, anecdotes and inspiration with all of you. I won’t be posting my name or the names of my family because I value my privacy, but I will be happy to answer general questions about myself. I hope all of you will tune in every week to see how this journey progresses!
